To Love for Love’s Sake

Wherever love leads you it won’t be to the wrong place. It might be a hard place, a painful place, a difficult place, it will lead you to the cross, but it will also lead you to the one who is your redemption, Jesus.

Only, once we make the decision  to follow the call of love do we start learning what love really is.

But love might not be what we think it is.

Love is not how good something or someone makes me feel.

It’s not what something or someone can do for me.

Love isn’t affirming and supporting of behaviours and beliefs that will lead someone to fall away from God’s truth.

God’s truth is real Love.

Love will lead us until we love for love’s sake alone.

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope -

2 Corinthians 13:8-10
