Thoughts

I read a sermon said to be by St. Macarius a couple of days ago in the office of readings.

Here it is. Click to enlarge.

It made me reflect on how without Christ indwelling we are so lost and always hungry.

I was thinking how God wasn’t welcomed into His own creation.

There was no room at the inn.

The light came into the world but the darkness comprehended it not.

Mary was ‘full of grace.’

She had the indwelling of Christ.

Mary is like an Ark.

She is often called the star of the sea ‘Stella Maris.’

‘This world is thy ship and not thy home’ says Saint Therese.

To make a dwelling for Jesus inside us we have to empty ourselves.

To purchase that pearl of great price we have to sell everything.
