Signs of the end times

Jesus says we should read the signs of the times.

Jesus says that the last days will be like the days of Noah.

The book of Enoch details the days before Noah.

New Testament texts that refer  to the book of Enoch:

(1 Peter 3:19–20

2 Peter 2:4

Jude 1:6, 14–15)

The Essenes, a sect of Jews that had reportedly close ties with Jesus, His followers and John the Baptist, regarded the book of Enoch as part of the canon of Holy scripture.

The book of Enoch details the days when the Nephilim roamed the earth. Fallen angels had copulated with human women to birth these Nephilim. The angels taught men different technologies, such as metalwork and pharmaceuticals and they had taught women how to decorate their eyes with make up to make them more seductive.

Who was Enoch?

Enoch was Adam’s great-great-great-great grandson (and Noah’s great grandfather) who lived a holy and faithful life to the Lord. He also became the father of Methuselah, the longest-living man. Throughout his three-plus centuries on earth, he had numerous other offspring. Enoch is also only one of three people taken straight to heaven, escaping death altogether.

During Enoch’s time, humans grew more prideful, self sufficient  and further away from God.

Then came the flood. Noah built the ark and only a remnant of humanity was spared.

These days we have de-classified files on ‘alien’ visits to our planet. Since these visits our technologies have advanced enormously. The last hundred years has seen a burst of growth in technology that has transformed how humans have lived for millennia.

There has also been, amongst other things, a focus on female beauty and sexuality with the normalising of make up, immodest clothing and plastic surgery.

The pharmaceutical industry has also turned medicine into big business. Now there are even mandates to force people to use pharmaceuticals.

Below is a verse from the book of the apocalypse also called revelation about the role of pharmaceuticals in the end days.

23
Even the light from a lamp
will never shine in you again!
The voices of the bridegroom and his bride
will never be heard in you again.
For your merchants were the tycoons of the world,
because all the nations were deceived by your magic spells!
24 The blood of the saints and prophets was found in her,
along with the blood of all those who had been killed on the earth.” - (Rev 18:23-24)

It is interesting to note that the original Greek translation of ‘magic spells’ is the word Pharmakeia, the root of the modern word for pharmacy.

  1. Revelation 18:23 tn On the term φαρμακεία (pharmakeia, “magic spells”) see L&N 53.100: “the use of magic, often involving drugs and the casting of spells upon people—‘to practice magic, to cast spells upon, to engage in sorcery, magic, sorcery.’ φαρμακείαἐν τῇ φαρμακείᾳ σου ἐπλανήθησαν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ‘with your magic spells you deceived all the peoples (of the world)’ Re 18:23.”
The symbol of pharmacy is highly esoteric and I’m not going to show a picture of it here on the blog. It is pagan in origin and features a snake which is highly symbolic in Christianity. The snake is what tempted Adam and Eve in Genesis and yet is regarded as a symbol of power in many pagan religions. This power is not of God though and is very dangerous.

Amongst all the other signs such as pestilences, wars, mass animal deaths, apostasy, famines and natural disasters and the degradation of the moral law outlines in (2 Timothy 3) I believe the reference to the days of Noah is also significant to these times.

We the church are Christ’s mystical body on earth. Surely, we are also to mystically partake in The Passion of Our Lord.

By the end of Jesus’s ministry, one apostle betrayed Our Lord and likewise, there may be a betrayal which comes from within the church in these end days.

There will also be a great ( falling away ) apostasy from the truth. In the last hundred or so years there has been an unprecedented falling away from the faith in traditionally Christian countries.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord ‘Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,’ - (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3)

By the end days:

Because lawlessness is increased, the love of most people will grow cold. ( Mat 25:12)

And people will turn from God:

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. (2 Tim 3)

And there will be a powerful delusion:

For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. - (2 Thess 2:7-12)

We won’t be able to buy or sell without taking a mark:

The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worshipthe image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. - (Rev 13:15-18)

And people will be left to do as they will to reveal the true leanings of their heart:

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still; and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still; and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still; and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” - (Rev 22:11)

I will leave this post with the words of Jesus himself.

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age(A)

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, (B)the disciples came to Him privately, saying, (C)“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them: (D)“Take heed that no one deceives you. For (E)many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ (F)and will deceive many. And you will hear of (G)wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For (H)nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be (I)famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

(J)“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.11 Then (K)many false prophets will rise up and(L)deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow (M)cold. 13 (N)But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this (O)gospel of the kingdom (P)will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation(Q)

15 (R)“Therefore when you see the (S)‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (T)(whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But (U)woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For (V)then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; (W)but for the[c]elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

23 (X)“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For (Y)false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, (Z)if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 (AA)For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 (AB)For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

The Coming of the Son of Man(AC)

29 (AD)“Immediately after the tribulation of those days (AE)the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.30 (AF)Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, (AG)and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 (AH)And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His [d]elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
